The Challenge 

Maybe you’re tired – dead tired – of selling widgets or washing machines or standing in a superstore but love the consumer interaction. Or perhaps you’ve got other skills, understand technology but your knowledge isn’t valued and your day dull and repetitive. Or you want to get off the tools and do something with more variety and challenge?

However, without training and support selling is far from easy; the survival rate of people starting in high value sales roles is less than 10% within two years. Whilst for those that are suited to selling and are nurtured from the outset the rewards are spectacular.

Think about it; you’re new to high value selling or you have a product which is a market chaser rather than a market leader and you’re trying to convince a customer that what may be the largest transaction this year and will impact their daily existence for years to come should be handed over to an unknown sales rep and small suburban business. Too often sales representatives are thrown in the deep end; given little more than product specifications, an old contact list and left to get on with it ALONE. When you join us we have an initial process that ensures you are systematically exposed to the required products as well as all of our internal sales and administration tools. When you join one of our sales teams you are able to interact with customers with confidence.

Over time to further hone your skills, we conduct a variety of in-house training sessions supplemented by bringing in specialist trainers for advanced sales development. All the while you will report to, and be mentored by, an experienced new car franchise sales manager or dealer manager.

In 2013 we launched the Dominelli Academy of Excellence leadership program. This is a collection of courses over the year to build business and management skills. The course is designed to round out the knowledge base for staff moving to leadership roles across the entire group. It would also be the perfect introduction for staff wanting to undertake private study in business or even complete an MBA.

The options with us to start by perfecting your sales skills and then diversify to other topics that lead to management roles are extensive.

Finally you cannot be part of the Ford community, as long as we have, without being passionate about V8 Supercars. With Nissan joining the race in 2013 the excitement in the business has doubled. Reflecting on our long term participation with the V8 Super cars series we are giving a car away to benefit the Westmead Children’s Hospital at the Sydney event in December.
