The role
This is a sales role within the specialist sector of the commercial property market specifically for sale of tourism and accommodation properties including: Hotels, Motels, Back Packers, and Caravan parks, Guest Houses, B&B’s, Mobile Home Villages and Boarding Houses.
You will be assisted to establish yourself in this speciality by our seasoned professional Peter Sweet The opportunity available to you is to extend your personal reach beyond Peter’s client base or to develop your own speciality or to grow a business within this sector with more speciality staff working for you.

He is one of a specialised group of people across Australia to have this intense tourism focus and he is one of even fewer people whose knowledge and credentials bridges both commercial real estate sales and tourism.
This puts Peter into a unique competitive position and is a big part of his success in this sector. The other part of his success is sales focus derived from his days in residential sales. Selling property is quite different to the more general commercial real estate work of Property Management and negotiating leases. So while there are plenty of local general commercial agents who will stumble over tourist properties for sale in their geographic area, these agents are not as selling skilled nor do they have the immediate contacts in the tourism buyer market to compete effectively with Peter.
Peter will help you over your first year to learn some of the issues of assessing these properties and dealing with the buyers and operators in his existing market sector

While we have relationships across the entire state our proactive focus is on the area that arches from Newcastle, through the Hunter, West of the Blue Mountains around the Southern Highlands and through Wollongong to the Sydney central space. He will teach you the accounting subtleties of analysing going concern tourism accommodation businesses and the art of selling to tourism savvy business professionals.
Once you are confident with the more unique characteristics of selling in the tourism space First National North Sydney directors Mark and Tim, will work closely with you to fine tune your own target clients or property type to suit your own style or to establish your geographic focus; either broadening to include greater NSW or refining down to a more targeted area, like Sydney metro, depending on what appeals to you and your ability to travel consistently across a larger area. Even later as your reputation grows in this sector we can plan to grow as a business unit with more staff and perhaps new regional satellite offices.
