We achieve this by starting new team members as a junior in partnership with an experienced member of staff and offering growth through courses with our partner companies; these include IBM, Oracle, webMethods, CA, Tibco and SOA Software.
Your role as a junior BDM will be in partnership with one of our senior sales consultants. Initially you will be creating new relationships with managers inside our client base that we do not already work with. You will also be organising introductions for yourself and your partner to new organisations that mirror the departments and topics we have excelled with recently.
We will be teaching you how to close some business alone within months of starting; with other opportunities your partner undertakes the bulk of the selling while you learn the complexity of our bigger solutions.
How quickly you become an independent sales person will depend on how quickly you pick things up and what opportunities you have a chance to work with. It has usually taken two years, but as we often work as a team there is no rush. Wherever you are on the learning curve you will be earning commission from your own sales and sharing in the bigger ones.
In the first three months you will be in nearly full time training, with our specialist and attending formal classroom training with our partners. Over the years you will return to training for product lunches time and time again. You will also be sitting in on strategy planning sessions with our partner sales teams to help you learn client needs and how we position ourselves within that.
